The Fountain

The ensemble is made of sculpted granite, with different degrees of polishing. The system is powered by a manual pump that ensures reduced water consumption and includes an Archimedes screw to raise the water to its maximum point, a water mill, and 9 different types of valves that allow the user to choose which circuit the water should follow. The granite forms a large number of different reliefs that cause the water to fall in small waterfalls, accelerate when it reaches a narrowing, or make seemingly 'impossible' journeys in a spiral. As can be seen in the photographs, children need all their attention and coordination with other players to successfully navigate the water through the different routes. The curiosity to experiment with all the possibilities offered by the ensemble encourages them to keep playing with it.
