Dos Hermanas, Spain
The guardian of the forest, tree shepherd, or ent, are the different names given to a BARBOL. An immense tree with human attributes, tasked with caring for the forest and its inhabitants, much like this unique play structure cares for its young users, providing them with shade, fun, physical challenges, and a gathering spot. An intricate network of nest baskets hangs from its branches, creating a path of platforms at different heights to jump and climb on. The interior of the main trunk allows climbing through a series of mid-height platforms, gradually gaining height until reaching two slides, with heights of 5m and 6.5m respectively, which intertwine and cross harmoniously on their descent. Its enormous branches hang beside the trunk, descending to merge with the roots that emerge from the ground, and through which a succession of rope, ball, and rubber games run.
